Welcome to the Selective Mutism Network

The Selective Mutism Network is a new UK-based support and educational initiative which strives to work collaboratively with selective mutism (SM) lived experience experts*, families, and professionals to support and empower those with SM.

It is hoped that together we can share perspectives and ideas which can help us address and combat the lack of understanding of SM, the sparse research, and the lack of accessible support. There is much the SM community will continue to achieve through its commitment to empowering those with SM. The Selective Mutism Network is here to support this process.

*The Selective Mutism Network defines lived experience experts as people who, themselves, live(d) with SM (low profile, high profile, or progressive mutism).
